Gay Icon Project

[edit]

In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. Thank you very much. Philwelch 22:18, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Pop Culture

[edit]

I think she deserves a little more pop culture notice. I know that Samford University, a Baptist college in Alabama, once used her face on the cover of their Facebook. I believe it was in 2000. That particular Facebook it became a national joke for a small time - Letterman mentioned it. (The prankster had a collage of photos forming her face, which - upon much inspection, no doubt - proved to be pornographic photos). --Spesek 03:26, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This beautiful woman deserves a picture! Manic Hispanic 00:14, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

yeah well.. now that she has a picture, she deserves a better one. LOL 75.45.220.19 04:36, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to her biography she had parents who worked for Latin Commercial Air Flights. This bimbo is not Hispanic. In fact, she is of English ancestory as she stated in many interviews. The people who wrote that shes hispanic need to be shot, and hung for being so stupid. Her mothers maiden name is Parker. Where on earth does it qualify you to be hispanic/latino when your parents fly, or work for an airlines thats from a Latin country. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.223.136.232 (talk) 10:55, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

According to the linked article, it states that her mother was a child of Salvadoran immigrants. Her full name is Maria Elizabeth Parker Infante. She was born in El Salvador and emigrated to the U.S. as a young girl. 198.27.233.0 (talk) 04:37, 25 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Campaign Poster Not a Valid Biographical Image

[edit]

The use of a PETA poster for Christy's biographical image is inappropriate and attempting to use wikipedia for political purposes. Sacredhands —Preceding signed but undated comment was added at 16:24, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Turlington's face looks like that in the horror movie. I think it's better not to put that one and move the PETA poster to her modeling career. (Number1spygirl 00:14, 21 September 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Additional References

[edit]

I added a reference to her birthdate, not knowing that would be a problem. I thought more outside sources for information were useful, right? —Preceding unsigned comment added by GreenTeaz (talkcontribs) 00:59, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Generally yes, but cityfile.com has been questioned as an unreliable source recently as well as a pattern of promotional linking to cityfile.com has occurred recently. While that's under review myself and other editors are removing links to that site. You're more than welcome to discuss these issues. - Owlmonkey (talk) 01:53, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
